10 Ph.D. Studentships at Lancaster University

Lancaster University is offering 10 PhD Studentships that are open to
students from any country (see

Lancaster University Research Studentships are for up to four years.
They exempt the recipient from paying tuition fees and include an
annual living stipend at UK Research Council rates (£13,290 in
2009/10). Each year, recipients will also benefit from a personal
research support account of £1500, to use for training and skills
enhancement. The closing date for consideration under this studentship
scheme is Friday, 17 April 2009.

An Interactive Session on importance of Brand Building at AMU

ALIGARH, February 27: An Interactive Session was organized at Department of Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University, on importance of Brand Building. Prof. Zafar, the speaker from Texas University, is an eminent personality in the field of Branding. An Alumnus of AMU, he is currently the Professor and Dean of College of Business and Management at Fahd Bin Sultan University, Saudi Arabia.

The session started with the speaker introducing the topic of brands and followed with emphasizing the importance of a brand, be it person, product or organization.

The session was followed by question & answer, where he addressed to the queries of the students.

Prof. Zafar is also planning to dedicate his expertise in building brand, AMU, and regaining its old glory of being Oxford of the East.

Assemble at Lounge(F/O Arts) AMU:Book Release, Encounter at Batla House

Jamia Teachers' Solidarity Group Invites you to the release of their Report/ Book 'Encounter' at Batla House: Unanswered Questions at AMU's Lounge, Faculty of Arts on 6th March (Friday), at 10.30 A.M.. A group of teachers at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) came together to campaign for truth and justice in the aftermath of the encounter at Batla House on 19th September under the banner of Jamia Teachers Solidarity Group (JTSG). The Solidarity Group conducted a vigorous civil society campaign, demanding a judicial probe into the 'encounter'. Piecing together police statements, press reports, testimonies of families and eyewitnesses, and other documentary evidence, the JTSG has compiled a report on the 'encounter' and subsequent arrests. The report will be released at AMU's Lounge, Faculty of Arts on 6th March (Friday), at 10.30 A.M.. The Programme details are given below. Two Muslim girls for adoption : spread the word --- Urgent

My Muslim Community, I have urgent news. There are two
little girls two years old and 8 months old who need to be adopted otherwise
the government will take them and it is our responsibility to
make sure these girls in good hands. If
anyone is willing to adopt them or knows someone who will take them PLEASE let
me know right away,
As we only have till march. Please spread the word, to
anyone and everyone who may be interested, this is our responsibilty
as muslims to make sure these girls go to a good muslim household
inshallah.

are related to Saima Azhar, the elder child went in for a
broken arm to the doctor and the parents got accused of child abuse,
unfortunetly they lost the case and now they cant have there children
back!!!! Can
You can imagine how tough that is for a mom! anyways so they

Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/ Engineer 'SC' in the pay band of Rs. 15600-39100 + 5400 (Grade Pay). The gross emoluments in the minimum of scale will at present be approximately Rs.24,360/- p.m. In addition, HRA and Transport Allowance at the prescribed rates in force at the place of posting will be paid for those who are not availing Departmental Housing and Transport facility. The employees will be governed by the New Pension Scheme.
