PARVIN SHERE began her career almost thirty years ago both as a poet and a painter.
Her distinguished position is acknowledged all over the world. Her pen, pencil and brush operate dexterously in realistic and surrealistic domain and perform wonders. As an artist, Parvin believes that realism is highly effective and inevitable mode of expression. Gifted
with exceptionally kind heart and generous outlook, she is extremely sensitive to any thing amiss, any thing deviating normalcy.
The creative consciousness of Shere unmistakably perceives the disgraceful violation of human rights: millions of oppressed, exploited, homeless, foodless masses ceaselessly
toiling in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Mexico and many other places of the world. Child therefore appears as a recurrent metaphor in her poetry and paintings. She microscopically
takes into her realistic creative account the cruelties and miseries, agony and anguish, fears and frustrations, disappointment and dejection that have made human life excruciatingly painful experience. Her painting is often discussed as surrealistic, the essential foregrounding, nevertheless, is realistic.
The recent painting of the heart shattering devastations, an excellent example of her caused by flood in Pakistan is flawless realistic concerns. Her art, however, cannot be confined to an exclusively realistic portrayal in words and colours. Her realistic approach is inextricably related with her immensely affectionate disposition and immaculate femininity; it is also related with her own conception of literature and art. Because she considers, both art and literaturew, as apowerful means of self-purification, amelioration,
and preservation and promotion of values. Parvin Shere's unique sense of colours and her musical diction take her art far beyond the prescriptive notions of realistic art. Even her personal experience or expressio transcends the immediate context and assumes universal
dimensions. Her highly sensitized selection of themes, pervasive undercurrent of irony, multilayered incorporation of metaphor, symbol, image and imagery, attribute her art a flavour of contemporaniety and secure her a place of her own amongst the post-modern
poets and painters.

Her two prestigious awards. Her second collection entitled NIHAL- E- DIL PAR SAHAB JAISE(Raindrops on Parched Land) has been recognized as a unique work of its own kind.
It consists of about fifty poems based on the single theme, "THE MOTHER". Inspite of her singularity of theme, this collection stands as a solitary example of novelty of expression and differentiating spontaneity of feelings and emotions.
This collection was awarded "THE BEST BOOK OF 2010", by URDU MARKAZ INTERNATIONAL, LOS ANGELES, U.S.A. Parvin is also a musician and a vocalist. A
multi- faceted and a versatile personality indeed. Her poems have been appearing in a fairly
large number of journals, magazines, lterary supplements and newspapers. I have always felt an urgent need to compile and edit anthology of what I consider, some of the best essays and reviews of her work.
