New Provosts Appointed
Aligarh June 20: The Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University has approved the appointment of following as Provost of the Halls of residence, for a period of two years or till further orders, whichever is earlier, with immediate effect.
Prof. Mohammad Shabbir (Department of Law) – Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Hall, Dr. Najam Khaliqe (Reader, Department of Community Medicine) – Hadi Hasan Hall, Dr. Meraj Ahmad (Department of Hindi) – Aftab Hall, Dr. Sohail Sabir (Department of Chemistry) – Mohsinul Mulk Hall, Prof. Anis Ahmad Ansari (Department of Kulliyat) – Sir Syed Hall (South), Prof. Ashok Mittal (Department of Economics) – NRSC, Prof. Syeda Nuzhat Zeba (Department of English) – Indira Gandhi Hall, Prof. A. R. Fatihi (Department of Linguistics) – Sir Syed Hall (North), Prof. Sattar Husain (Department of Chemical Engineering) – Sir Sulaiman Hall, Prof. Mohammad Arif (Department of Civil Engineering) – Nadeem Tarin Hall, Dr. Khalid Bin Yusuf Khan (Reader, Department of Sanskrit) – Viqarul Mulk Hall, Dr. Mohammad Abid (Reader, Department of Political Science) – Mohd. Habib Hall, Dr. Farzana K. Beg (Reader, Department of Paedriatrics) – Sarojini Naidu Hall, Dr. Ikram Husain (Reader, Department of Physical Health and Sports Education) – Sir Ziaudding Hall and Dr. Nawab Ali Khan (Reader, Department of Commerce) – Ross Masood Hall.
Prof. Mohammad Shabbir, Prof. Syeda Nuzhat Zeba and Dr. Farzana K. Beg will also look after work of Allama Iqbal Hall, Abdullah Hall and Begum Sultan Jahan Hall respectively till some other arrangement is made or until further orders, whichever is earlier, with immediate effect.
New Dean Appointed
Aligarh June 20: Professor Syed Abrar Hasan, Department of ENT has been appointed Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University for a period of two years with effect from June 20, 2009 vice Professor Abu Qamar Siddiqui, Department of Psychiatry.
