Salma Begum Secures first position in the PMT 2009

Salma Begum secured first position PMT examination 2009 with 364 marks out of 400.

She is  the eldest daughter of Md Abdur Rehman and Bibi Hajira of Lilong Uku Maning. She is one among five siblings and this was her second attempt at the PMT examination.

Her father, a pharmacist, and mother, a housewife, had faced many difficult circumstances in fulfilling her ambition to join the medical profession.

Permanent Appointment of Registrar, Controller Exams-Addmissions and Finance Officer

Aligarh June 24: The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University on behalf of the Executive Council has approved the recommendations of the General Selection Committee and sanctioned the appointment of Prof. (Dr.) V. K. Abdul Jaleel as Registrar, Mrs. Yasmin Jalal Beg as Finance Officer and Professor Pervez Mustajab as Controller of Examinations for a tenure of five years, with immediate effect.

Dr. Nadeem Ansari:Paper Novel Diagnostic Biomarker For Diabetes Mellitus in International Conference on Molecular Medicine at Istanbul, Turkey

Dr. Nadeem A. Ansari, Department of Biochemistry, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University attended the International Conference on Molecular Medicine at Istanbul, Turkey
and presented a research paper on a novel diagnostic biomarker for diabetes mellitus. Dr. Ansari's visit was supported by DST and the Indian National Science Academy.

Dr. Ansari's paper aimed at the identification of glucose modified Iysine-rich protein (Amadori IgG) in type 2 diabetes patients with complications of heart, eyes and kidney. Dr. Ansari said that modified protein might serve as a diagnostic biomarker for the disease and could help in the development of a targeted drug for the disease therapy.

Dr. Ansari has the honour of the publication of his research paper on diagnostic biomakers for diabetes mellitus (both type 1 & 2) in an American journal "Human Immunology". He has also presented his papers at five national and international conferences.

Dr. Nadeem A. Ansari has recently submitted his Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Moinuddin, Department of Biochemistry, J. N. Medical College.
