Parvin's book was recently launched in India, Pakistan, the United
Kingdom and Germany. Her book is also in the collection of the British
Library in London, the University of Heidelberg, Germany and Maulana
Azad Library of Aligarh Muslim University. Parvin was recently
honoured at Aligarh, Delhi Ghalib Academy, Jamia Milliah and
Allahabad. After the publication of "KIRCHIAN" another collection is
soon to be released. It is a coffee table book titled "RAINDROPS ON
PARCHED LAND"(NIHALE - E- DIL PAR SAHAB JAISE), a unique concept that
has emerged fom Parvin's pen and brush. This book is a collection of
poetry and related paintings on a single universal theme of "MOTHER"
which has never been taken into creative account in Urdu literature
before so comprehensively by a single artist. There is no precedent in
Urdu literaure to what Parvin Shere has done. If an average poet wasa
given the challenge to compose more than four dozen poems on a single
theme, it would be difficult with such a meritorious way of handling
it without repetitive similarity
says Dr. Satyapal Anand, an eminent poet and scholar. Parvin believes
that "the purpose of any art is to foreshadow a greater reality. The
challenge for the artist is to capture the aura of the unseen".
