Workshop on Sexually Transmitted Infection/Reproductive Tract Infection at AMU

Aligarh July 4: A Regional level Workshop on "Sexually Transmitted
Infection/Reproductive Tract Infection (STI/RTI) Services under
National AIDS Control Programme - III for Medical Officers" was
organized in the Department of Community Medicine, J. N. Medical
College, AMU, Aligarh. The Workshop was sponsored by UP State AIDS
Control Society (UPSACS), Lucknow.

This workshop was attended by the medical officers from nine districts
of U.P. Dr. M. Athar Ansari, Organising Chairman welcomed the
participants, Dr. Najam Khalique, Programme Coordinator discussed the
current scenario of Reproductive Tract Infections/Sexually Transmitted
Infections in India and the responsibilities of health professionals
in prevention and control of these infections. In her address Prof.
Zulfia Khan, Chairman Scientific Committee highlighted the importance
of holding a workshop on such an important issue which is generally
being neglected. The Workshop included lectures on various aspects of
STI/RTI and its prevention and control. Resource person who delivered
lectures were Dr. M. Athar Ansari, Dr. Ali Amir, Dr. A. Razzaque
Siddiqui, Dr. Suboohi Afzal, Dr. M. Salman Shah, Dr. Tabassum Nawab,
Dr. Sakeena Mushfiq, Dr. Nishat Akhtar, Dr. M. Shahid and Dr. Anjum M.
Chugtai. Presentations were followed by role play by the participants.
The program was conducted by Dr. M. Salman Shah and Dr. M. Athar
Ansari proposed a vote of thank.
