When replying to a message, the entire message gets quoted. If you wish to respond only to certain lines of the message and quote only those lines, then activate the Quote Selected Text Only from the labs.Inbox Preview
At times we need to check our inbox again and again if we are anxiously waiting for a message. Gmail takes certain amount of time to open. The inbox preview feature provides the status of first 10 messages even before the inbox actually open. If you find no new mail you can log off saving your time and effort. If the message is there, you will be delighted to much earlier than the opening of inbox.
