Earth Day Celebrations In AMU: Essay, Debate, Poster And Presentation Competition

ALIGARH, April 26: The Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University organized an Essay writing, debate, Poster-making and oral Presentation competition as part of Earth Day celebrations.
In Essay Writing Competition, Mr. Shivendra Pratap Singh, B.Sc. II got first prize, Ms. Shaista Khan, M.Sc. (P) got second prize while Mr. Mohd. Alam, M.Sc. (F) got third and Mr. Rejwanul Islam M.Sc. (P) got the Consolation prize.
In Debate Competition Ms. Shaista Khan, M.Sc. (P) got first prize, Mr. Mohd. Alam, M.Sc. (F), got second prize while Mr. Khatib Khan, M.Sc. (P) got the third prize and Mr. Noufal Kn, M.Sc. (F) got the Consolation prize.
In Poster Competition Mr. Azim Uddin Mirza, M.Sc. (F) got first prize, Ms. Shilpi Gupta, M.Sc. (P), got the second prize while Mr. Shahid & Mr. Juniad, M.Sc. (P) got the third prize.
In Oral Presentation
Mr. Junaid Ahmad, M.Sc. (P) got first prize, Mr. M. Alam, M.Sc. (F) got second prize, while Mr. Naufal Kn, M.Sc. (F) got third and Mr. Bhupendra Kumar Sharma, M.Sc. (F) got Consolation prize.
Prof. Akhtar Haseeb, OSD (Development) gave away the prizes to the winners. Dr. Shadab Khursheed, Chairman, Department of Geology welcomed the guests.
A large number of students participated in the events. The programme was attended by Prof. Rais Akhtar, Professor Emiritus, Jawahar Lal Nehru University, (JNU) New Delhi and Dr. C.D.P. Singh, Ex-Chief Manager, Khetri Copper Belt, Rajasthan, Syed Umar Qadri, Vice President, AMUSU including faculty members and representatives of AMU students Union.
