Futuristic Shape of Teaching and Training of Jarahat

ALIGARH, February 19: Department of Jarahat (Surgery), A.K. Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University is organizing its first National Conference on "Futuristic Shape of Teaching and Training of Jarahat" at Under Graduate and Post Graduate education of Indian system of medicine on February 21-22, 2009 at Kennedy Hall. The Conference will be inaugurated by the Minister of State Health and Family Welfare, Ms. Panabaka Lakshi.

Prof. Anis Ismail, Chairman, Organizing Committee told that the Conference is aimed to discuss the issue related to working online Principles of Unani System in surgical patients. He said that Jarahat is a technical skill which is developing progressively right from the incision by raw metallic instruments in ancient period to the minimal invasive fiber optic surgical today.

While introducing the Department of Jarahat, A.K. Tibbiya College, AMU Professor Iqbal Aziz, Organizing Secretary said medicines used in the treatment of patients may be Unani, Ayurvedic, Homeopathic or allopathic, but the surgical procedures or Jarahat (Arabic equivalent of surgery) adopted today are entirely technological and are universally acceptable, may it be India, Greece, Germany or America, with the same aim keeping in mind, we are working on lines of using Unani drugs in surgical patients, preoperatively, post-operatively, as well as in conservative treatment of surgical patients.
