Dr. A. R. Jha delivers lecture on Nanotechnology

Dr. A. R. Jha, Senior Consultant from Los Angeles, California, USA today delivered a lecture on
Nanotechnology, MEMI and Solar Energy in the Assembly Hall of Z. H. College of Engineering and Technology at the Aligarh Muslim University.
Dr. A. R. Jha is a very distinguished Senior Old Boy who has earned respect and
recognition from California to China.
In his presidential remarks, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis said that
Dr. Jha has agreed to join his alma mater as a Visiting Professor in 2010 and share his
knowledge with staff and students of the Engineering Faculty.
Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis also informed that the Council of Science and Technology
has sanctioned the establishment of Centre of Excellence in Material Science
(Nanotechnology) with an initial grant of Rupees One Crore and Ten Lakhs from this year. He also appreciated the efforts of Prof. Alim Husain Naqvi and his team.
Earlier while welcoming the guest speaker, Professor Ahtisham Ahmad Nizami, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology said that Dr. A. R. Jha received his B. Sc. Engineering (Electrical) degree from Aligarh Muslim University in 1954, MS (Electrical), MS (Mechanical) and PhD from prestigious universities in USA. He also said that Dr. Jha has authored eight books and has published more than 75 technical papers.
He said that Dr. Jha has worked for US companies such as General Electronics
Company and other institutions for more than 30 years. He has extensive and
comprehensive research, development and design experience in the fields of radars, high
power lasers, electronic warfare system, microwave and MM-Wave antennas for various
applications, Nanotechnology based sensors and devices, photonic devices and other
electronic components for commercial, military and space applications.
